Simply The Best, The Luisa Marshall Show brings you interviews with multi-award winning film producer, director, writer and editor Sean Garrity along with Winnipeg-based Filipino-Canadian actor Hera Nalam to talk about this groundbreaking movie “I PROPOSE WE NEVER SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN AFTER TONIGHT”.
In the new Canadian romantic comedy film about LOVE, WINTER and BANANA SAUCE, 20 of the 29 actors are Filipino-Canadians, all from Winnipeg. The story is about a Filipina girl, Iris dela Cruz (played by Hera Nalam) and a Mennonite boy, Simon (played by Kristian Jordan) fall in love in the deepest Canadian winter.
There are also some very funny scenes in “Taglish”. The movie opens today September 4 in two cinemas in Vancouver. Movie COVID strict guidelines enforced for everyone’s safety.

ABOUT SEAN GARRITY
Sean Garrity is an award-winning filmmaker from Winnipeg.
His films have been translated into more than 15 languages, sold around the world, and the subject of numerous remakes.
His work has been selected by some of the world’s most prestigious festivals including Toronto, Busan, Shanghai, Mannheim, Torino, Singapore, Melbourne, Mar del Plata, South by SouthWest, Santa Barbara and Sao Paulo, and awarded at the Toronto International Film Festival, Vancouver, Las Vegas, Brussels and Hot Docs, to name a few.
Sean speaks four languages, and also works as a bass player, having appeared on half a dozen CDs. He performs live most weekends in Winnipeg, where he lives.
ABOUT HERA NALAM
Hera Nalam is an up-and-coming Winnipeg-based actress who unlocked her love and passion for acting when she moved to Canada 9 years ago. She is actively involved in the theatre community in Winnipeg, and has been seen in multiple productions including Romeo & Juliet (Pocketfrock Theatre Productions), Quest (Meraki Theatre Productions), Torn Through Time (Manitoba Theatre for Young People), Timon of Athens (Shakespeare in the Ruins), Time & The Conways, Concord Floral, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead (University of Winnipeg).
Hera is also a singer-songwriter & has recorded her original music, which is available on Spotify and Apple Music.
I PROPOSE WE NEVER SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN AFTER TONIGHT is Hera’s first film.
