Here’s an amazing story of a Filipino Canadian, Genette Mujar pursuing her dream! Genette was born and raised in Malabog, Daraga, in Albay, Philippines. She came to Canada in 2007 to work as a caregiver for 10 years. As a single mother of 3, she struggled financially and started fixing hand-me-down clothes. Ever since she was young, Genette always had a passion for designing and sewing clothes.
In her 50’s, she decided to pursue her dream, enrolled in a Fashion Design School and graduated with flying colors. Then she became an official Fashion Designer for a local clothing company in Canada.
Today, Genette’s brand “Gnetz Designs” offers great selections of dresses, gowns, from trendiest to fashion runway designs, from formal to edgy Filipinianas.
