We are so excited to take you through our experience at the FINALE, the Grand Crowning Gala on May 9th at the River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond, BC. 35 passionate and beautiful delegates from all across the nation competed for the Miss World Canada 2013 title. The outcome astounding… Camille Munro of Regina, Saskatchewan is Miss World Canada 2013 and she will have an opportunity to represent Canada in the 63rd Miss World pageant on September 28th in Jakarta, Indonesia.
At the height of the Miss World Canada 2013 finale I must admit my heart was pounding when Bryan Mudryk was frantically interrupted by a crew backstage to stop announcing the winner. There appeared to be a mistake after giving out 2 sashes to what was announced to be 3rd place Anastasia Lin and 2nd place Tamara Jemuovic. It was a terribly awkward moment for the hosts as Bryan walked off stage to find out what was wrong. Bryan returned to the stage told the crowd they had to check the votes and apologetically asked the Top 5 to exit the stage stating there was apparently a mix up in the votes. The crowd started to get restless and booed. My heart stopped. But all is well when the host Bryan apologized again to the crowd and explained that they just wanted to make sure that they announced the right winner.
All went smooth after the mix-up. My observation… it was just the mistake of announcing 3rd place immediately instead of announcing the 5th place.
Congratulations to the winners! All these ladies may continue to be delegates of Miss World Canada through the years.
