Human Trafficking – the world’s fastest growing crime. More than ever before in human history, an estimated 40.3 million people around the world are sold and traded for labour, domestic servitude, organ harvesting, sexual exploitation and sex slavery. Over 10 million are children. It is estimated that Modern Day Slavery leaves 30,000 deaths each year from abuse, disease, torture, and neglect while being trafficked for just sex slavery alone. 1% of victims are ever rescued.

It’s a huge global business that makes roughly 150 billion dollars per year for traffickers internationally. Yet the rates of prosecutions for human traffickers who inflict this imprisonment, abuse, and exploitation are alarmingly low ranging at 9,102 human traffickers convicted worldwide in 2019.

Many survivors of Human Trafficking are left with medical and trauma issues, many hardships finding education and employment and are ultimately left with little to no resources and no place to call home. Victims around the world need your attention and action. And survivors need your help and care.

In honour of World Human Trafficking Awareness Day on July 30th, Simply the Best brings to you a special mini series featuring kind passionate people fighting for these global issues to be seen, rescuing victims trapped in exploitation, and supporting the healing process and care of survivors.

Randy Watson – Director & Founder of the Ally Global Foundation – a charity that helps survivors of human trafficking find healing and restoration through safe homes, education, job training, and long-term care. Randy will walk us through more on Ally Global and share actions that you and your loved ones can take at home and within your community to get involved and help survivors of human trafficking.
