Luisa Marshall’s Tina Turner Tribute will be headed to Salt Spring Island for the first time on Friday, November 21st for an intimate solo show at the Salt Spring Legion! As a special treat, the 2003 Rock N Roll Tribute Artist Champion will not only be performing her world renowned Tina Turner Tribute, but she’ll also feature songs from her other all time favourite Divas such as Shania Twain, Etta James, Lady Gaga, Amy Winehouse, Donna Summer and more all in the spirit of Tina Turner.

After walking the Golden Globes Red Carpet, Luisa Marshall earlier this year had a highly successful BC Spring Tour filled with sold out shows and many, many new fans along with her loyal fans and supporters. Steve and I were so excited to bring our daughters Kimi and Zenia on our trip to Salt Spring Island over the weekend. The 10am ferry from Tsawwassen Terminal to Salt Spring Island seemed to have sailed forever on this rainy Friday – stopping on three little beautiful islands in between: Pender, Mayne and Galiano. After 3 hours, we finally hit our destination and we checked-in to the Salt Spring Island Waterfront B&B. Wow! It was such a very charming and relaxing suite with the most beautiful view overlooking the inlet. We could sit and watch the ferries sail in and out, and the next morning, during breakfast, we looked out our window into the trees to see a deer grazing and just chilling out.

Yes! This was Luisa Marshall’s Tina Turner Tribute’s first time to perform on Salt Spring Island and it was a Rockin’ SOLD OUT show on Friday night! What a great feeling to see a packed room with happy faces! The Legion partied hard and TINA’s rock meter maxed out! People danced, sang and clapped to all the familiar songs including other Divas songs like “All Fired Up”, “Man I Feel Like A Woman”, and “Bad Romance” to name few.

I felt so good the next day waking up to a sunny morning after 8 hours of much needed sleep. Away from the hustle and bustle of the big city I got to enjoy peaceful quiet of our room. Looking out the glass patio door and through the big windows from our bedroom was one of the best sceneries we’ve ever seen. It was really breathtaking and just warmed my heart. We had a delicious breakfast courtesy of Salt Spring Island Waterfront B&B and during breakfast, we saw a deer outside our window, also enjoying their breakfast – grazing then lying down to relax.
We then roared through downtown Ganges to check out local stores, parks, marinas and restaurants. We enjoyed the simplicity of it all! Nothing big. Just simple.

After exploring Salt Spring Island in our Tina-mobile, we headed back to our suite for some more restful time and had a great chat with Salt Spring Island Waterfront B&B owners husband and wife Kent & Kelley. They told us about how much they’ve enjoyed living on the island after they moved from White Rock 15 months ago.

The second night at the Legion was unbelievably full but comfortable. Twenty more people bought tickets from the previous night… some came back to see the show again. The rock meter was in effect and, once again, we were thrilled with the effect of TINA. The people partied to the max and it turned out to be another fantastic evening! Salt Spring Islanders really know how to party!
