The Show

The Luisa Marshall Band rocked out over the long weekend at the River Rock Casino Resort’s Lulu’s Lounge! It was so much fun both nights! We are so grateful of the positive feedback we received from absolutely everyone – the fans, the guests & the staff.

On Good Friday, Lulu’s Lounge Sound Technician, Steven Mather, told us a funny story about how his niece dropped by to watch the band. She pointed at Luisa and told him that she would make a great Tina Turner. Soon after saying this to Steve, the band started to play Tina Turner’s “Simply the Best.” Steve told us how his niece started freaking out saying “I told you! I knew it!” It’s funny that regardless of the wig, costume, make up or song, Luisa still manages to emulate the Queen of Rock & Roll, Ms. Tina Turner! For all you Tina fans out there (old and new), we just wanted to let you know that Tina Turner is getting married to her long time partner Edwin Bach at 73 years old. What’s love got to do with it? Or should we say, what’s age got to do with it? Congratulations Tina!

On Saturday, Mr. World Canada 2012 Frankie Cena joined the Luisa Marshall Band on stage to sing “Moves Like Jagger” by Maroon 5. Frankie was amazing and the crowd absolutely loved him! We’re also very excited to share that, during our break backstage, Frankie informed us that he is a finalist for American Eagle’s Live Your Life Campaign! The Province featured him in yesterday’s paper. Just like in the Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards, American Eagle’s Live Your Life Campaign’s winners are chosen by the public by online voting. So let’s vote Frankie and Luisa! Do it now!

This end of March long weekend was super fun at Lulu’s! The Luisa Marshall Band just seems to get better and better with each performance! We can’t wait for the next show! We’ll see you all again!

Today I woke up with a great feeling of being inspired again. Loyal fans, friends and family came out for 2 nights in a row to rock with the Luisa Marshall Band at the popular nightspot Lulu’s Lounge, River Rock Casino. The dance floor was packed for three – 1 hour solid sets of variety Top 40 hits from Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Blondie, AC/DC, Donna Summer, James Brown to Lady Gaga to name a few.

Thank you Trish & Steve Pineau! Ever since my Tina Turner Tribute Band played for your wedding reception at the Hyatt Hotel here in Vancouver in 2002, you 2 have always been supporting the band whenever you can. I can’t tell you how grateful I am! We love you guys!

Thanks to Sun-Yee Mah for bringing a big group of your friends and family to celebrate your husband Dikran’s birthday. Your party stayed for all 3 sets and never stopped dancing. It was a blast watching your moves on the dance floor!

Thank you so much Bert Morelos, Christian Cunanan and Reeve Ryan for helping us film the performance and taking some promo shots. You guys are so professional and you guys rock!

Thanks to my brother Bebet and sis-in-law Angie for coming out of hibernation and staying up so late. They brought their beautiful friends Ken & Kim and danced all night!
