In St. Johns, Newfoundland, we encountered a soldier and his story of courage and survival. Jamie Macwhirter was born and raised in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. At age 17, he joined the army as an infantryman for 8 years then in 2004, he was transferred as a trucker posted in Edmonton, Alberta.
In 2006, he served his country as a trucker in Afghanistan. When he returned to Canada, he was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in 2008. Trying to find a way to cope, he wrote a book in 2011 about his tour in Afghanistan and his experiences with PTSD. Recently, Jamie went on a tour to spread PTSD awareness and helping people with PTSD by founding PTSD Buddies.
Today… he’s proud to release his second book.
